Preventative dentistry focuses on regular maintenance of the patient’s overall oral health in order to help ensure long-term oral health.

Preventative dentistry is about spotting issues in the early stages so that they can be dealt with quickly and more easily, allowing us to provide minimally-invasive treatments and hopefully preventing the need for more complex treatments.

This is achieved through thorough regular maintenance, and works most effectively when the patient, dentist, and dental hygienist work together so that you are receiving:

Good oral care at home
Regular annual or bi-annual visits to the dentist
Frequent trips to the dental hygienist

What preventive dentistry treatments do you provide?

All of our regular dental examinations and dental hygiene appointments are preventative. At these regular appointments, we’ll be able to offer and provide:

Diet and lifestyle advice
At-home oral care advice tailored to your needs and specific oral health
X-rays as needed
Fluoride treatments for patients susceptible to decay and caries/cavities to help remineralise the teeth
Fissure sealants to fill in any tiny crevices in the cusp area
